Most faults can wait for a normal booking. These are the ones that jump the queue:

- Oven or stove dead with people coming over and dinner half-prepped.
What to do before the technician arrives
The right two minutes here keeps you safe, and now and then it saves the appliance as well:
- You smell gas: get out of the house, leave the light switches alone, and phone your gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not wait on us first.
- Sparking, smoke or a burning smell: stop using it, pull the plug if you can reach it safely, and tell us it is that when you call.
- Water on the floor: near an outlet, stay back and leave it. Otherwise unplug the unit, shut the supply valve behind it, and mop up so it is safe to work on.

What counts as an appliance emergency?
A fridge or freezer that has quit cooling, because the food inside it is on a clock. Water running onto the floor from a washer or dishwasher. Anything sparking, smoking or smelling like hot electrics. Gas you can smell near a range or dryer. An oven that died with dinner half-prepped and people on the way. Those go to the front of the same-day list wherever we can get to them.
Do you charge more for same-day or emergency service?
No. You get the price before the work whichever day it is, and there is no 'emergency fee' waiting on the invoice. The ranges are the same as a routine booking and you approve the firm total before anybody starts.
My appliance is sparking or smells like burning, what should I do?
Stop using it, and pull the plug if you can reach it safely. Then call us and say that is what is happening. A burning smell or visible sparking is a fire risk, and we book it accordingly rather than slotting it in next week.
I smell gas near my stove or dryer, what should I do?
Get everybody out of the house first. Do not touch a single switch on your way, and phone your gas utility or 911 once you are outside. That call comes before ours. When the gas side is made safe, we will sort the appliance out.
My fridge stopped cooling overnight, how long do I have?
Roughly 4 hours with the door shut, and about 48 for a full freezer. So keep it closed, move medication and anything you cannot replace into a cooler with ice, and call. No-cooling calls are the ones we push to same-day.
